Songs you should consider playing at every party with both

Adults and Kids…..

People often ask me about a “play list” during pre-party meetings.

I realize many of my clients are counting on me as a DJ for over 30 years to know what will get a “normal” crowd going.

For parties with both Adults and Kids here is my normal answer.

Kids want current. So even if you are the coolest parents ever and have turned your kids onto the Beatles, Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix-99% of kids realize that you have to play what’s on the radio NOW to please a typical 13 year old. This doesn’t mean Bizar can’t fit in your favorites-it just means that most of the songs will be hits from the radio that every kid can sing and dance to. It’s pointless to have a kid playlist as the current songs are always changing.

Adults actually tend to be the more challenging group. Some adults have favorites that are hard to play at a dance party. Take Bruce Springstein as an example. Great artist-hard to dance to. So typically we suggest songs that everyone can both sing and dance to. With that goal in mind, here is my favorite’s list: (in no special order) And also please keep in mind that there are hundreds of songs that I love and that I could play if parties lasted 10 hours. So this list is put together with the concept that all parties have dance sets and therefore typically there is a limit to how many songs you can actually play.
